Facts Check Analysis: The Kerala flood has brought a massive destruction in the state of Kerala. It was soon followed by a new from the Chief Minister of Kerala, which brought political conflict with the left government in Kerala and the centre.  As per the chief minister,  On August 21, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had said at a press conference: “The UAE government is willing to help us. The crown prince, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed Bin Al Nahim, has spoken to our PM yesterday. UAE has decided to help Kerala with $100 million. These facts were communicated to Keralite M A Yousaff Ali when he met Shaikh Mohammed Bin Al Nahim today to convey Eid wishes.”

The indianexpress in its article published stated that “UAE Ambassador Ahmed Albanna told The Indian Express that there has been no official announcement so far by the UAE on any specific amount as financial aid.”

The news about 700cr flood relief was put by the Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan.

On August 17, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, had tweeted that UAE and the Indian community will unite to offer relief to those affected. “We urge everyone to contribute generously towards this initiative. The people of Kerala had always been successful in the success of the UAE. We have a special responsibility to support and assist the flood victims. Especially in this epic and blessing of Eid al-Adha,” tweeted the UAE Prime Minister.

Later Modi tweeted “A big thanks to @hhshkmohd for his gracious offer to support people of Kerala during this difficult time. His concern reflects the special ties between governments and people of India and UAE.”

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has discussed the devastation caused by the floods in Kerala during a telephone call with the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

During the call, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to the Prime Minister and discussed the relief efforts under way.

H.H. Sheikh Mohamed said that the UAE was prepared to extend all help during this humanitarian crisis in which hundreds have been killed and thousands displaced, and added that the two countries had always enjoyed deep and friendly ties going back several years.

The Indian Prime Minister expressed his thanks and appreciation for the UAE’s concern and its assistance in relief efforts across the southern Indian state of Kerala.

He said that the UAE’s response reflected the special relationship between the two countries and their peoples.

In any of the news, there was no mention of the amount to be donated towards the flood relief for the kerala.
