Viral Message Verification –   Viral news going over the internet and being widely shared on the social media claims that post 1st October; Iowa Residents will no longer be able to buy Soda Pop or Candy.

The site claims that the Soda and Candy will no longer be available of electronic purchase. The recipients would no longer be able to use their electronic benefit transfer card to purchase them.

The Iowa Department of Human Services has already published that benefit cards in Iowa can be used to purchase “all types of foods that are sold to be eaten at home,” which includes soft drinks and candy:   

This news being spread from a known website often known for spreading pranks and rumors based on the users interest. This website breakingnews247.com is an entertainment website, news are created by users.

If you go in the about section of the website you can find the condition “This website is an entertainment website, news are created by users. These are humourous news, fantasy, fictional, that should not be seriously taken or as a source of information.” Which clearly means the story cannot be believed.
