The British scientist, Stephen Hawking was well famous for his work with black holes and relativity, and wrote several popular science books including A Brief History of Time.
However soon after his death a fake image has been circulating on the social media showing Stephen Hawking alngwith political activist and writer Tariq Ali. This image was shared widely on social media. The news claimed that Hawking’s was marching against the Vietnam War in London during the 1968 war.
Well British-Pakastani activist Tariq Ali (a writer & filmmaker & editor) who himself is in the picture quoted this

The photographer, Lewis Morley indicated that Hawking was in the image but the Gallery has since ascertained that this was incorrect.
