Amidst the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy to be held in England, the Indian cricket team will play their first match against Pakistan on Sunday. However for many it will sound little sad that Anil Kumble may be heading out of from as the head coach of the Indian Cricket Team. According to sources, Team India's chief coach Anil Kumble and captain Virat Kohli are going through a lot of controversy, which is just not getting over.

According to a report of the Indian Express, “The ICC Champians Trophy will be Anil Kumble the last tournament as the post of Head coach of the Indian cricket team."

As per the reports of Hindu newspaper, the reason for the unrest between Captain Virat Kohli and coach Anil Kumble came to the fore, when Kuldeep Yadav was requestedto be played by Anil Kumble, in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia There was a conflict between the two because of this.

Anil Kumble took over the head coach of the Indian cricket team in June 2016, after which the performance of Team India has been spectacular yet, while India has defeated almost every opposition team under the supervision of Anil Kumble.

Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody, Doda Ganesh, Lalchand Rajput and Richard Pies are the names currently floating for the Head Coach post. However sehwag’s name is in the top contender list for this job. And it is likely that he will succeed Anil Kumble.

Sehwag is the frontrunner in the coach race. Other contenders include Australian coach Tom Moody and England's Richard Pies. Among the Indians, former fast bowler Doda Ganesh and former India coach Lalchand Rajput are also doing the rounds.

Sehwag has no previous experience of coaching. Although he is the mentor of Kings XI Punjab IPL team. It is understood that the top BCCI officials have persuaded him to apply for this top job. It will be intresting to see how Sehwag replaces Anil Kumble.

Lalchand Rajput was the coach of Team India in the 2007 T20 World Cup, when the Indian team became champion. He is also a coach of India A. Moody has teamed up with IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad. He was also the coach of Sri Lanka team.  

The committee of three members is going to decide the Indian coach. This committee has Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman and Sachin Tendulkar. It is believed that these three will also talk to the Kumble. But more importantly, is it really that Kumble is no longer willing to be a coach? If this is so, Sehwag looks a bit ahead in the race.
