Bengaluru, Apple Phones: After a huge success in the Indian market, The Apple Company plans to set up its facility in Peenya, Bangalore in April, 2017. Peenya is also famous for being the city’s industrial hub.

As per reports, Wistron, a Taiwanese OEM maker for Apple, shall be setting up this  facility in Peeny, to manufacture the iPhones. The facility will start production from next April,” the Times of India said.

It is said that a group of senior officials from the Indian government will be meeting next month to deliberate on the incentives sought by iPhone maker Apple to set up a manufacturing unit in the country.

The senior official group is likely to meet in the first week of January, 2017 to discuss the issue, sources said.

The government sources said the Technology giant should set up its manufacturing unit in India without seeking any additional support.

Currently Apple has six other manufacturing hub in the world, including Korea, Japan and the US.

The Apple company had sought exemption on the ground that it makes state-of-the-art and cutting-edge technology products for which local sourcing is not possible, which the government had rejected.

The government had also turned down the firm's proposal, this year to import refurbished phones and sell them in India.

Currently the company sells its products through Apple-owned retail stores in countries like China, US, Germany, UK and France, among others.
