New Delhi: A video of a 44-year-old woman Smriti Kalra, who recently in another video was seen repeatedly slapping an Army jawan in Delhi, has apologized in front of camera for her shocking behavior.

Soon after on Friday, the Delhi Police had arrested her and seized the car in which she was travelling. However the current video which is going viral is not of the slapping of the Army Jawan but her apology.  

However fearing she will be procuted for this, she now claims that it happened due to a misunderstanding.

Kalra, a divorcee, she claimed that on that day she was continuously being harassed by some unidentified people and was quite disturbed.

She complained that “Some people, who were coming behind her car and were harassing her. It was a misunderstanding and she apologise to the Army for my behavior.”

Smriti Kalra also expressed her desire to meet the Army jawan, whom she slapped, and seek his forgiveness.

She said “I respect men in uniform a lot and whatever happened was due to a misunderstanding. I can meet the Army jawan and apologise to him directly.”

The incident had taken place in Delhi’s Vasant Kunj area on last Saturday. Smriti Kalra  was arrested after the Indian Army reported Smriti Kalra to the Delhi police. She was arrested from her Gurugram residence, where she lives with her parents. Later, she was produced in a court and granted her bail.

Kalra  was booked under the charges of "causing hurt to deter a public servant", obstructing and assaulting a public servant on duty and "wrongful restraint".

She was slammed on the social media for her behaviour. In the video, which went viral on the social media, she could be seen slapping the Army soldier without facing any resistance from him.
