Washington, Donald Trump: During his telephonic conversation with PM Narendra Modi and the U.S. President Donald Trump, the latter said that he looks forward to host Modi later this year in Washington.

During the call late on Tuesday night and according to a statement from the White House the newly elected of United States President Donald Trump also emphasized that United States considers India as a true friend and partner in addressing challenges around the world.

PM Modi and Trump also discussed opportunities to strengthen the partnership between the two countries, United States and India in broad areas such as economy and defense.

They also discussed about the security in the region of South and Central Asia.

President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi resolved that the US and India stand shoulder to shoulder in the global fight against terrorism.

This was the first conversation between the two sides after the new President of U.S. head of state took office.

Earlier they first spoke in November just after Trump's election win.

Prime Minister Modi is the fifth foreign international leader to hold talks with Trump after he was sworn in as the 45th U.S. President on Friday.
