Pakistani prisoner Sanaullah dies in chandigarh hospital
CHANDIGARH: Pakistani convict sanaullah died in PGIMER HOSPITAL in Chandigarh early Thursday morning .He was brutally attacked by an inmate in Jammu jail last Friday.
According to the PGIMER doctors, Sanaullah died at 6.56am due to multiple organ failure. Dr YK Batra, who had been treating Sanaullah for a week, tried hard to revive him. doctors had said that his condition was “extremely critical”.
64 years Sanaullah was in jammu jail for the past 17 yeatsafter he was convicted under TADA provisions following his arrest in 1999..He was attacked ealier this month by an Indian prisoner Vinod kumar.
The Pakistani was flown from Jammu to Chandigarh for treatment .
Meanwhile, security has been increased outside the hospital. Additional police personnel and a quick response team have been stationed at the hospital as a precautionary measure.
Deputy commissioner Mohammed Shaheen visited the hospital to take stock of the situation.
Sanuallah's relatives, brother-in-law Mohammed Sehzaad and nephew Mohammed Asif arrived India to visit him on Thursday.
