It is written in the viral message that ''dear customer, your SBI YONO account has been closed today. Contact now and update your PAN number. A link or phone number is given with this message.'' Many people are falling in the trap of this message and are giving their personal details to the senders, but now PIB Fact Check has called this claim fake.
News Verification: It appears that SBI did not send the mail based on the message's phrasing. Additionally, it originates from personal phone numbers, which the financial industry does not formally employ. Customers were warned by PIB Fact Check that no such mail was ever sent by SBI. Never believe such a communication if you receive it. In addition to this, you can also report phishing by dialling 1930 or report.phishing@sbi.co.in.
