Was Krishna Janmashtami Procession in Srinagar carried after 32 years

News Claim: A video with a statement that Srinagar celebrated Krishna Janmashtami after a gap of 32 years; however we found multiple times when Srinagar celebrated Janmashtami over the years.

Zee News carried  an article stating, After a gap of 32 years, the Kashmiri Pandits organised a Janmashtami procession to celebrate the birthday of Lord Krishna in Srinagar on Monday amid tight security arrangements

News Verification: It is true that Jammu and Kashmir have been less celebrating these festivals than other parts of India. The claim on Social media by many that, Krishna Janmashtami Procession in Srinagar was carried after a gap of 32 years is not true. Ayupp found that the Procession was carried out during the years 2004, 2007, 2018.

A gettyimages gives us a picture taken in 2004, as per the image site, it shows a picture of a girl playing with a flute. An article was published by hindustantimes on Sep 2007, with a title as Janmashtami procession in Kashmir. The article states, for the first time since militancy broke out in Kashmir in 1989, a Janmashtami procession organized by Pandits passed through the famous Lal Chowk here on Monday, signifying a perceptible improvement in the situation in the strife-ridden Valley.

As per the Greater Kashmir YouTube channel, such procession was carried in 2018 as well.
