Questions raised regarding the efficacy (if any) of use disinfectants such as sodium hypochlorite spray used over individuals to disinfect them. 

Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has received many queries regarding the efficiency (if any)  of use of disinfections such as Sodium hypochlorite spray used over the individuals to disinfect them. The strategy seems to have gained a lot of media attention and is also being reportedly used at local levels in the certain district/local bodies.

News Verification: Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID -19) is an acute respiratory disease caused by a novel Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), transmitted in most instances through respiratory droplets, direct contact with cases and also through contaminated surfaces/objects. Though the virus survives on environmental surfaces for varied periods of time, it gets easily inactivated by chemical disinfectants.
