India: The Central Bureau of Investigation is looking for more information in the INX media case and P Chidambaram. It has sent letters to 5 nations United Kingdom, Mauritius, Bermuda, Switzerland, and Singapore to get more information in connection to the INX media case. Thus CBI has extended its inquiry in the case.

As per sources, Chidambaram was kept overnight in the No. 5 suite of the CBI Guest House on the ground floor of the CBI headquarters.
What is the case against Chidambaram
The CBI suspects that Chidambaram and his son Karti also received kickbacks from other companies to facilitate foreign investment clearances through the FIPB route which necessitates the former minister's custodial interrogation. CBI has identified several shell companies of Congress MP Karti Chidambaram and P Chidambaram. The agencies have found that although the shell companies are registered under the names of different persons, however, the actual beneficiaries are P Chidambaram and his son.
Why the CBI wanted Chidambaram's Custody:
- Allegations against Chidambaram are serious.
- The case requires an in-depth and detailed investigation.
- Money trail needs to be ascertained.
- The enormity of money requires an in-depth probe.
- Custodial interrogation may be useful and fruitful.
