News Verification: The short clip of the French President Emmanuel Macron is widely viewed on social media. The news shared is not totally true.

Currently, Proof of vaccination or a Covid-negative report has been made mandatory only for entry in big shopping malls and not for nearby grocery stores.

As per the French government website health pass will be needed to visit places of common areas, In early August: the "health pass" is extended to cafes, restaurants, shopping centres, hospitals, retirement homes, medico-social establishments, as well as to travel by plane, train and coach for long-distance journeys. Other places may be added to this list later if necessary depending on the epidemic situation;

The "health pass" allows you to check the vaccination status, the result of a negative test or the certificate of recovery of a person, allowing him for example access to a gathering or an event of more than 1,000 people.

Thus Macron has not banned people, unvaccinated people, from purchasing food.

News verdict: false
