Above screenshots/attachment, the text is viral on Whatsapp, Twitter, Facebook and other social media.

News Verification: The above claim is not true, in fact, there is not Doctor like Dr Tarun Kothari at Din of Nayer Hospital. As per tnmcnair, the dean of the hospital is DR. Ramesh Bharmal.

The government of India’s nodal information agency – the Press Information Bureau (PIB) said that “A message is being claimed that prolonged use of masks leads to excess carbon dioxide and lack of oxygen in the body. #PIBFactCheck: This claim is #Fake. Wear a mask properly to prevent the spread of #coronavirus.”

As per World Health Organization (who), “The prolonged use of medical masks can be uncomfortable. However, it does not lead to CO2 intoxication nor oxygen deficiency”

FACT: The prolonged use of medical masks* when properly worn, DOES NOT cause CO2 intoxication nor oxygen deficiency

The prolonged use of medical masks can be uncomfortable. However, it does not lead to CO2 intoxication nor oxygen deficiency. While wearing a medical mask, make sure it fits properly and that it is tight enough to allow you to breathe normally. Do not re-use a disposable mask and always change it as soon as it gets damp.

* Medical masks (also known as surgical masks) are flat or pleated; they are affixed to the head with straps or have ear loops.

So it is clear that Ramesh Bharmal is misleading the public on COVID and other related health issues. He has been misleading the public on the said topic. Even his social media accounts have been blocked several times by Facebook and Twitter.

News verdict: False information shared by DR. Ramesh Bharmal
