Facts Check Analysis: Has Canada refused Visas to Indian Army Generals and Brigadiers who served as intelligence officers for their part in Kasmir? No isn’t, this is a old video viral since May 2010. So literally it is 9 Years old video.

Many people believed the news authenticity and started abusing each other on social media.

In May 2010, Canada denied visas to a member of the Indian Armed Forces, three serving Brigadiers, a retired Lt General and a former senior IB official on the grounds that their organizations have been engaging in violence.

The events happened for more than 2 years until India warned for retaliatory action against Canada, that it would stop giving visas to Canadian officials who go to Afghanistan via this country.

The Persons were denied visas were

  1. Lt Gen (retd) A S Bahia, a decorated Indian military officer who is now a member of the Armed Forces Tribunal in Chandigarh. He had served in a location of Jammu and Kashmir.
  2. Retired Lt General R N Bhatia was also refused a visa in 2008 on similar grounds.
  3. S S Sidhu, a retired IB officer, was denied visa on March 26, 2010.
