Facts Check Verdict: False

News Verification: It is really disturbing when a head of a nation shares fake news without fact check and verification. Apart from this if the news is in someway related to fear mongering against certain part of religious belief, this makes it more dangerous.

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan shared a video claiming that it shows police brutality against Muslim in Uttar Pradesh, he wrote “Indian police’s pogrom against Muslims in UP”. The tweet was later deleted.

The video showing action by the police is not from India but from Bangaladesh.  The police raid at night showing wounded and dead protesters in Bangladesh is being falsely shared online as Assam and against CAA, NRC and other ways.

News by dawn published in 2013 states the same conflict between the police and the Bangladesh government. Bangladesh's prime minister has ruled out a new blasphemy law despite a mass campaign by Islamists to introduce the death penalty for bloggers whom they accuse of insulting the Prophet Mohammed.

As part of their push for a change in the law, the Hefajat-e-Islam group on Monday forced the closure of schools and businesses and barricaded inter-city motorways and railways across the country in a general strike.

But Sheikh Hasina, who has been leading a secular government in the Muslim-majority country since 2009, said existing laws were adequate to prosecute anyone accused of insulting a religion.

Around 27 people were killed during the incident.
