Facts Check News: There is a growing demand for Sidhu resignation, as, during an election campaign, he said that if Rahul Gandhi will lose from Amethi, he would leave politics.

Rahul Gandhi lost the Amethi Lok Sabha seat to Bharatiya Janata Party’s leader Smriti Irani on 23rd May 2019.

.The viral news in the social media is true, Navjot Singh Sidhu claimed on 23rd April and said that “I will quit politics if Rahul Gandhi loses Amethi: Navjot Singh Sidhu”. As per the economic times' article, the Congress leader said, Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has said that he would quit politics if Rahul Gandhi loses elections from Amethi.

He rejected the claim that BJP candidate Smriti Irani is giving a tough fight to Rahul Gandhi in Amethi. Congress President Rahul Gandhi is also contesting from Wayanad in Kerala on a second seat.
