Facts Check Analysis: A Pakistan based news channel Abb Takk, on 5th March, quoted fake news from a user on a social media claiming that Indian Army’s 21 Sikh regiments refused to fight for India.

The Pak Media took this news from a Twitter user Gurmeet Kaur. This tweet was mainly shared by Pakistan based users on social media.

We did not find news recently in any of the news channels in India or from Republic TV, where this news was said to be taken from.

Major Gaurav Arya (Retd), Consulting Editor - Strategic Affairs @ Republic TV, took to twitter to debunk this fake news. He twitted “This fake campaign was started by Pak TV. Unfortunately, some Indians blindly started Tweeting without checking facts. @republic NEVER ran this FAKE news. Please tag a Pakistani and ask what the Sikh Regiment did to Pak army in 1971. Why this obsession with Sikhs???”
