Facts Check Verdict: UN Verified
News Verification: The video was shared by BJP’s Delhi spokesperson Tajinder Bagga and has been viewed by more than 2000 on social media. A program was organized in CP (Delhi’s Connaught Place) in solidarity of CAA. Some Pakistani Hindus were also present. As per the tweet, “Uber driver Naseem asked Pakistani Hindu refugees living in Majnu Ka Tila camp to get off his car and drove away”
The country needs to know that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) allows religious minorities who have been persecuted in three neighboring Islamic countries, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh, who have come to India before 31st December 2014, to get Indian citizenship. It does not talk of taking away the citizenship of any Muslim’s living in India.
We do not have much information on this to verify, other than the video statement by the person who was asked to leave the vehicle. We would update the news content when we have more information.
