News Verification & Origin: Ayupp fact check team found that the news information given is not true. The photo was taken during a rally in Patiala, Punjab, in August 2015. This is not from the present clash with police in Chandigarh on June 26. It has nothing to do with the ongoing farmers’ strike.
As per hindustantimes, news published on Aug 7, 2015. Twelve farmers and three cops were injured when the police resorted to lathi-charge at Hariaua village near here on Thursday. The farmers were opposing the district administration’s move to take control over the panchayat land in the village.
The police also fired teargas shells and beat up farmers to take control of the situation. More than 20 farmers, including women, were detained. The administration sealed all houses built on government land and has also snapped electricity connections.
