Fake news claims:  News claiming Kizza Besigye has been awarded Guinness World Record, for going into Jail for a maximum number of times.

BREAKING: Dr Kizza Besigye has been recognized by the Guinness World Book of Records as the most arrested man in the world. The Guinness World Book of Records mentioned that Besigye was arrested 50 times as per Monday, 20th January 2020.

News Verification: No the information is not true, Kizza Besigye has been not awarded a Guinness World Record holder for going a maximum number of times to jail.

Warren Kizza Besigye Kifefe, known as Kizza Besigye, and also nicknamed Colonel (in reference to his military rank before he left the Army), Daktari, Kifefe, KB, and Ssenyondo, is a Ugandan physician, politician, and former military officer in the Uganda People's Defence Force.

He was Monday detained on January 20, at Nalufenya Police Station after being arrested in Jinja. He was set to address the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) as the party marked 15 years since it was formed. He is a long-standing opponent of President Yoweri Museveni, Besigye, also has been frequently jailed, put under house arrest, accused of both treason and rape, tear-gassed, beaten and hospitalized over the years. This has been repetitive over the years.

The longest jail term to a single person on multiple counts went to Charles Scott Robinson, an American child rapist, who was sentenced on 23 December 1994 by a judge in Oklahoma City, USA, to 30,0000 years, the jury has recommended 5,000 years for each of the six counts against him.
