India, Bengaluru: Kumar Thakur, the former principle of a Kendriya Vidyalaya school who was earliar charged with sexually harassing a girl student earliar this month, has been finally suspended.
Earliar Thakur was arrested and released on bail and later transferred to a Karwal school.
KV sanghatan has said that the decision was based n the preliminary reports of an inquiry committee that was constituted by the deputy commissioner. KVS regional office, Bengaluru, following a directive from the Sanghatan Headquarters in New Delhi.
Charged under the protection of children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act. He was released the next day after his arrest.
Earlier on February 2, the Karnataka Sate Commission for Protection of Child Rights has issued an interim orders to immediately suspend kumar Thakur.
The order was issued after Vasudeva Sharma, director, child Rights Trust lodged police complaint alleging that Thakur the KV Principle has been Sexually harassing girl students particularly in calss 10 and 12 over three years period.
Thakur was earlier transferred to another school instead of being suspended.
