Eman Ahmed, possibly she is the heaviest women in the world and weighs around 500 KG, she arrived on the wee hours at around 4 AM to Mumbai airport on Saturday. As can be seen in the above, she was lifted by a crane to carry her back to the hospital. She was then taken to a hospital on a special bed created to transport her.

Ms Ahmed, had not moved out of her house for the last 25 years. She would be under observation for about a month before undergoing surgery, as per the doctors.

She is currently under the care of a city-based bariatric surgeon Muffazal Lakdawala, and his team of doctors.


It took 5 hours for her transportation from Egypt to India and no complications occurred while the transportation.

The hospital will be treating Eman for free for both the treatment and surgeries.

 Ahmed, along with her sister Shaimaa Ahmed, arrived here early today to India.

Her flight preparation took around 10 days, the team of doctors have been in Egypt for the last 10 days to optimise the conditions for her travel;

The 36 year old Egyptian woman Ahmed was at a high risk for a pulmonary embolism during her travel to India from Egypt due to her heavy weight of around 500 KG  and for the fact that she hasn’t moved for the last 25 years, she was put on blood thinners to try and minimize the chances of such an eventuality during her transfer.

Ms Ahmed is being transported by a fully equipped truck, which will be followed by an ambulance and a police escort to Saifee Hospital where a special room has been created for her.
