Complaints filed against Swara Bhasker over this tweet; #ArrestSwaraBhaskar trends

New Delhi: Multiple police complaints have been filed across India against Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker over her latest tweet. Also, she was criticised a lot on Twitter and #ArrestSwaraBhaskar was trending on the micro-blogging website on Wednesday (August 18).

Swara courted controversy after she tweeted, “We can’t be okay with Hindutva terror & be all shocked & devastated at Taliban terror.. & We can’t be chill with #Taliban terror; and then be all indignant about #Hindutva terror! Our humanitarian & ethical values should not be based on identity of the oppressor or oppressed. (sic).”

The actress’ comments come in the backdrop of the Taliban taking over Afghanistan following the withdrawal of the US troops.

“If you truly have the guts, pls go to Afghanistan, wear a blue burkha, hide your ankles and live one week with these bearded Messiahs and dont forget your vibrator as well.....let us see the end result! (sic),” a user replied to Swara.

An advocate took to Twitter to say that she had filed a complaint against Swara in Uttar Pradesh. She shared the copy of the same.

“This tweet is hurting my sentiments as an Indian and as a Hindu I have filed a criminal complaint against @ReallySwara for creating hatred between communities and hurting my sentiments Pls take action @myogiadityanath @shalabhmani @Uppolice @HinduEcosystem_ @KapilMishra_IND (sic),” advocate Yukti Rathi wrote.

BJP leader Kapil Mishra said, “Friends , pls follow my little sister @AdvYuktiRathi She has filed criminal complaint against Swara Bhasker She has campaigned against makers of Tandav series Follow and support her campaign #ArrestSwaraBhaskar (sic).”

He later tweeted that there were a total of seven complaints filed against Swara in various states. Some of them shared the copies of the same on Twitter. Complaints were filed in Mumbai, Kolkata and other cities.

Also, there were tweets in support of Swara.
