India, New Delhi, Sept 18: In another case against AAP leader, a complaint of bribery was filed against AAP legislator Sarita Singh from Rohtasnagar. She is accused of taking money pretext of providing them government jobs, police said.

Three complainants, including Shakeel Ahmed, president of Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) minority wing in northeast Delhi's Rohtas Nagar, approached them on Saturday evening alleging that they had paid a bribe of Rs 9 lakh to the MLA four months ago for getting a government job. A senior police officer said that the complaint is under enquiry and investigation is on.

Ahmed said he and two others paid Rs nine lakh, three lakh each, to her in April this year, a week before her marriage. "She had promised a government job with the Delhi government with a handsome salary between Rs 30,000-40,000 per month for three candidates," Ahmed was quoted as saying by IANS.

"We have approached police and also written to Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung, Election Commission of India, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and several officers of the Delhi Police against the MLA after she failed to provide the job and refused to return the money," he added.

Ahmed also alleged that she had started abusing them and threatening them with dire consequences whenever they approached her.

AAP in last two years has been unable to reign in its MLAs from illegal activities. So far, at least 12 AAP MLAs were arrested since the party swept to power in 2015. Most of them are still facing various charges against them. AAP national convener and Delhi Chief Minister in the past had accused the Narendra Modi government of targeting his party MLAs by allegedly foisting false cases against them.

AAP MLAs Sharad Chauhan, Naresh Yadav and Amanatullah Khan were arrested on different charges. Sharad Chauhan was arrested for allegedly abetting the suicide of a party volunteer. Naresh Yadav was held for allegedly desecrating the Quran in Punjab. Amanatullah was booked for intimidating a woman with rape and murder.

Sarita Singh, however, accused Shakeel of "forging" her signature, using her letter pads and "duping her off" Rs 7.5 lakh.

She also said that Shakeel was "expelled" by the party for these acts.

In her complaint to the police, she said that Shakeel was assigned to instal street lights in Welcome area but later she came to know that he was "taking illegal commission" for getting work done from locals.
