Barkha Dutt resigns from NDTV, quits channel NDTV after 21 years

New Delhi, Barkha Dutt: In a longest time serving for a dedicated and being loyal to a its channel NDTV, In a unprecedented move today on January 15th, Barkha Dutt quit NDTV after serving the channel for 21 long years. It looked like Barkha is NDTV and NDTV is Barkha, but finally the day has come for her to say "quits" from NDTV.

Some time back last month it was Arnab Goswami who had quit from Times now.

NDTV released a statement and wished Good Luck to its former employee.

Barkha is receiving Good Luck from the celebrities since then.

“Did my last We The People. At 16 yrs its longest running TV show which I built from scratch,won scores of awards for& am hugely proud of”, Barkha twitted.

“Its been a super ride at NDTV but new beginning in 2017. I shall be moving on from NDTV to explore new opportunities & my own ventures!”, Barkha twitted.

“As I move on after 21 Great NDTV yrs;a team I'm SO proud of, an Emmy Nomination & many other awards to cap it all,I count on your wishes”, Barkha twitted.

“Hugely excited to start New Year on a new slate, diversify my interests & build my own independent projects. Watch this space for more !” , Barkha twitted.

She joined NDTV in the year 1995, straight out of college and worked for the channel till 21 years till date. Now Barkha has requested that she would like to explore some new opportunities, pursue other interests and work on her own ventures.

Over the years Barkha had become a brand itself for the channel, people new Barkha meant NDTV and NDTV means Barkha. She has been hugely productive and has grown the channel from the scratch.

The channel quoted, we are certain that Barkha will go from strength to strength and NDTV wishes her all the very best."

Burkha Dutt had become famous for her reporting at Kargil during the war in 1999, and had been hosting the Channel’s programme ‘We the People’ from the first day, the programme has been a great hit for the channel.
