Court issues Arrest warrant issued against Baba Ramdev
New Delhi, May 13: A court in haryana, Rohtak district court have issued a bailable arrest warrant against popular yoga guru Baba Ramdev.
The court had issued the warrant in a case over his beheading remark which Baba Ramdev made when he said, “if he was not bound by the law he could have beheaded lakhs of people who refused to chant Bharat Mata Ki Jai.
Subhash Batra, a Congress leader had lodged a complaint against Ramdev one the same day after his remark.
Baba Ramdev was addressing a large gathering in Rohtak during a Sadbhawana Rally when he made this statement, the rally was organised to put calm the riot-hit state after violent Jat agitation for reservation.
Subhash after that moved court when the police did not register a case on Ramdev. Latter on March 2 the court summoned Ramdev for April 29, but Baba failed to appear.
On Thursday again, the court of additional chief judicial magistrate Harish Goyal directed Baba Ramdev to provide Rs 1 lakh personal surety during the carrying out of warrant. The court also asked baba to appear before the court on June 16, 2017.
