Dr BR Ambedkar statue vandalised in Uttar Pradesh again


Siddharthnagar (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Mar. 31: It is for the third time in March alone, a statue of Ambedkar has been vandalized, Locals staged protest after a statue of BR Ambedkar was vandalised by unidentified miscreants in Uttar Pradesh's Siddharthnagar district.

The statue was vandalised last night following which locals demanded action against the culprits.

"Efforts are on to identify those behind the incident," police said.

Earlier in the day, another vandalism act came to light after Ambedkar's statue was found decapitated in Ambedkar Park in Trivenipuram area of Allahabad.

Additional SP (trans-Ganga) Sunil Kumar Singh said, “We have registered an FIR under sections 295 A (deliberate and malicious acts intending to outrage religious feelings of any class) and 427 (Mischief causing damage) and we are investigating the case.
