Earlier a RSS worker has sued Rahul Gandhi for defamation over a speech while campaigning in Maharashtra for the general election in 2014
New Delhi, August 25: Just one day after Rahul Gandhi said congress vice-president conveniently backtracked from one of his most controversial statements which he made on the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS) which was filed against him in 2014.
Yesterday: Appearing on behalf of Rahul Gandhi, noted lawyer Kapil Sibal told the Supreme Court that his client never blamed RSS as an institution, but those associated with it who killed Mahatma Gandhi. "Rahul Gandhi had never accused RSS as an institution for the crime,'' Sibal reiterated.
Today rejecting the allegation that he has softened attack on the RSS, Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi insisted that he stands by earlier statement on killers of Mahatma Gandhi.
I will never stop fighting the hateful and divisive agenda of RSS. I stand by every single word I said, said Rahul. On Wednesday, Rahul told the Apex Court that he had not blamed the Hindu nationalist organization but people associated with it for killing of MK Gandhi in 1948. A 50-second long YouTube video titled RSS People Killed Gandhiji: Rahul Gandhi in Bhiwandi was posted along with the tweet.
