3.     MyGov – Government Initiatives:

Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, launched this app on 8th aug, 2016. MyGov is Government of India’s innovative citizen engagement platform for direct citizen participation in governance. It provides an avenue for channelizing the ideas, comments and creative suggestions of the citizens by connecting them to central ministries and associated organizations. Citizens can participate in policy formulation and programme implementation to usher in an era of direct participatory democracy.

The app basically replicates the MyGov website into a mobile format and offers a neat interface. Just like the online portal, the app contains groups and discussion topics like Girl Child Education, Caring for the specially abled, Clean Ganga, Food Security and more.

4.     MEAIndia – Know All About Indian Missions Abroad:

The Ministry of External Affairs, , Government of India (MEAIndia) has launched This Apple iOS and Android apps for all Passport Services in India with the help of this app  now one can track his/her passport application and in the next couple of months one can even apply for passport through this app and that’s too absolutely free.

The app helps users find out the nearest Indian missions or posts for emergency consular assistance, if required, and also find out how to undertake the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra and Haj Pilgrimage. Users can also download and watch pictures and documentaries on India, share and contribute their own pictures and suggestions, or even follow the prime minister on his visits abroad.

This app assists national and international tourists to access information about the tourism ministry like inbound tour operators, adventure tour operators, domestic tour operators, transport operators, travel agents, regional level guides, and classified hotels available in cities and tourist centres. 

Tourist can also query similar details for any other city he plans to travel to in future. In addition to this the application will provide places of interest .This will help the tourist in seeking services from Government of India recognized service providers and receive quality & reliable services from them.

  1. GARV GRAMEEN VIDYUTIKARAN:

The Grameen Vidyutikaran app lets anyone track the progress of rural electrification in India through a real-time dashboard. Launched by Rural Electrification Corporation Limited, the app is available for Android users. 

The dashboard presents the total number of un-electrified villages, details the status of the un-electrified villages and the work in progress – whether they’ve been surveyed or if work has yet to start.

8.     mPassport Seva App:

Passport Seva Project, being executed by Consular, Passport and Visa (CPV) division of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India, aims at providing all the Passport-related services to the Indian Citizens in a speedy, convenient and transparent manner.

This is one of the largest and the most handy app under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) being executed in public-private-partnership mode with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as the private partner. The project is already operational and servicing citizens through 77 Passport Seva Kendras across India.

 

MEA with a view to provide mobile enablement of public services, has launched a Mobile Application ‘mPassport Seva’ to offer a wide variety of services to smartphone users such as Passport application status tracking, locating the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) and general information on various steps involved in obtaining a Passport.

9.     Khoya Paya App: for missing childrens

In India many child goes missing and many never found an some found but can’t be returned to proper location. This app, the KhoyaPaya is a Indian centric app for registering for the missing and vulnerable children, where any citizen can register with the portal and provide information about a missing or sighted child, without waiting to complete the legal formalities.

The information supplied by the citizen would be made available for public view after quick moderation, thereby saving the valuable time. The citizen can further do searching of the database of the children by matching the attributes of the lost/sighted child. This also considerably reduces the time for the relevant information to reach the affected citizen. The mobile app facilitates the user in providing details of sighted children.

10.           Swachchata App: Swachch Bharat Mission

This app is really useful, when it comes to our home and neighborhood, we all need clean places. Quite often the municipal sweeper doesn’t come to collect the garbage of the area or home you belong.  You only need to click a picture of the garbage dump or overflowing dustbins and post it on the Swachhata (Cleanliness) app, a mobile application on Android and iOS launched by the Union Urban Development (UD) ministry for addressing complaints related to civic issues.

Anyone can download the app and file a complaint. Once a citizen has posted a picture, it will automatically get forwarded to the concerned municipal authority. All urban local bodies have been linked to this app, which pinpoints the exact location of the area of the complaint using the geo-location of the pictures. Once a complaint is registered, the complainant will be provided with regular updates on its status, including a picture uploaded by the sanitary inspector once the issue is resolved. Citizens will have the option to give feedback on the quality of resolution.
