Allahabad University convocation ceremony on Nov 8, Big announcements

Allahabad: The convocation ceremony of Allahabad University is today, November 8. Union Higher Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will participate in it as the chief guest. A total of 263 meritorious students will be awarded medals in the convocation ceremony. Four of these are meritorious, who will be given the Chancellor's Gold Medal. Apart from this, four students will be awarded Chancellor's Silver Medal and 2 meritorious students will be awarded Chancellor's, Bronze Medal. PhD degrees will also be awarded to 550 research scholars doing research in various disciplines.

The Allahabad University made the announcement on social media stating, “For PhD degree recipients, medal winners, staff and media: Entry in University campus shall be from KPUC Gate  Entry in senate hall shall be from Gate No. 4.  Vehicle Parking shall be in FCI building.”

They will get the chancellor's gold medal

Public Relations Officer Dr Jaya Kapoor said that the four students who will be awarded the Chancellor's Gold Medal include Himanshu Dubey of BALLB, Shivnekar Revathi Vijay of MSC Cognitive Science, Anshika Mittal of BCA and Madhavi Singh of MSC Botany.

They will get the Chancellor's Silver Medal

The recipients of the Chancellor's Silver Medal are Neha Mishra of BSC Bio Group, Shreya Agarwal of MSC Computer Science, Salvika Upadhyay of BA and Shashankamani Tripathi of MSC Biotechnology.

They will get the Chancellor's Bronze Medal

The branch medal winners include Kulbhushan Tiwari of BA, Urja Srivastava of B.Tech.

This will be the dress code

Dr Jaya Kapoor said that male students have been asked to come wearing white coloured full sleeve kurta which should be till the knees and wearing churidar or simple white coloured pyjama. Female students of PhD degree should have white-coloured saree with a red border, half or full sleeve blouse. The hair has to be tied in a bun. Female students of UG-PG have been asked to wear full sleeve white suits.

Faculty members have been asked to wear full sleeve white shirts and trousers. Female faculty members have been asked to come wearing saris.

Who will get entry from where students are not allowed to bring mobile

Dr Jaya Kapoor informed that students coming for PhD degrees in the university campus and medal winners, staff and media will be admitted through the KPUC gate.

For Senate Hall, PhD degree recipients, medal winners, staff and media persons will be given entry from gate number 4.

VVIP Guests, Executive Council and Academic Council Members, Faculty will be admitted to the University Campus from the Library Gate. Gate No. 1 of Senate Hall will be opened for VVIP entry only.

Everyone has been asked to take seats by 9 pm. Members of the Executive Council and Academic Council have been requested to be present in the North Hall by 9 pm. No one will be allowed to enter without the invitation card. Students are not allowed to bring mobile phones with them.

Two teachers will get Dronacharya Award

Allahabad University has decided to confer Dronacharya Award to the two best teachers from this year. Apart from this, two researchers will be awarded the Meghnath Saha Research Award.

A total of three new buildings including two hostels will be inaugurated

Dr Jaya Kapoor informed that Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will inaugurate three new buildings including two hostels on the day of the convocation. These include one Gargi Women's Hostel, the other Chandrashekhar Azad International Hostel. The total capacity of Gargi Mahila Hostel is 124 seats. This hostel is being built inside the Women's College campus. Apart from this, the third building, Major Dhyan Chandra Student Activity Center, will be inaugurated by the Union Higher Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
