Assam – Early morning of 68th Republic day saw bomb blasts in several parts of upper Assam and Assam-Nagaland border. It was reported that within a span of 45 minutes four blasts were triggered in Charaideo and Dibrugarh districts. The good news is that there were no casualties heard so far.

Militants of ULFA (United Liberation Front of Assam) has taken the responsibility of these blasts. As per the Police reports, the explosions occurred were in Dibrugarh town and Angera, Bihubor and Lengeribor in Charaideo. The bomb was kept near a drain in Dibrugarh which was only 500 metres away from the Republic day function. The bomb blasted without any casualties.

One of the explosions happened near Petrol pump in Angera.  Blast also occurred at Assam-Nagaland border in lengeribor. In Bihubor, the explosion happened near the  forest department office.

We are celebrating 68th Republic day today. This is done to remember the efforts being put by Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar for creating the Constitution of India on 26th Feb 1950. Each year in New Delhi, Republic Day parade is organized in Raj path.

Whole world has eyes on India and if any incidents such as blasts occurs anywhere across India then it is seen as a security threat. Delhi Police has taken special measures to protect people from any such attack. Almost 50,000 security personnel has been deployed all across Delhi to secure land, air and every corner of Delhi.
