The Delhi liquor policy case has sparked speculation about who might assume the role of Delhi Chief Minister next. Despite this, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) asserts that Kejriwal continues to lead the administration even while in custody. Acting as Kejriwal's intermediary, his wife, Sunita Kejriwal, has stepped forward.
Recently, Sunita Kejriwal issued her third video communication for the AAP leader, launching a "Kejriwal ko aashirwad" campaign and encouraging individuals to share their messages through a designated WhatsApp number. However, this latest video prompted a strong reaction from the ruling BJP, with Union Minister Hardeep Puri insinuating that Sunita Kejriwal is positioning herself for the role of Chief Minister.

- Sunita Kejriwal is a former officer of the Indian Revenue Services (IRS), with a 22-year tenure in the Income Tax (I-T) department.
- She met Arvind Kejriwal during a training program in Bhopal. While Sunita belongs to the 1994 batch of IRS officers, Mr Kejriwal is from the 1995 batch.
- She voluntarily retired from the I-T department in 2016 at 58. Her final assignment was as the Income Tax Commissioner at Delhi's Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT).
- Sunita Kejriwal was frequently seen alongside Arvind Kejriwal during the Indian Against Corruption movement and the early stages of the Aam Aadmi Party. She even took a hiatus from her official duties to support Mr Kejriwal's candidacy against Narendra Modi in Varanasi's 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
- Following the AAP's resounding victory in the 2015 Delhi assembly elections, where they secured 67 out of 70 seats, Arvind Kejriwal's first tweet of gratitude was directed towards Sunita, acknowledging her steadfast support.
