Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar's funeral will be held on Sunday
The Karnataka government on Saturday announced that the last rites of late Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar would be performed on Sunday morning and the timing would be fixed later. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that this decision has been taken in view of the huge crowd of his fans.
"As per the wishes of the people, the last rites will be performed tomorrow (Sunday) so that everyone can have a last glimpse. I appeal to the fans to cooperate with the police. The police are here to help them.."

Bommai said, "Puneeth's daughter is reaching Bengaluru between 5.30 pm and 6 pm. It will be difficult to perform the last rites in the evening. Keeping this fact in mind, it has been decided to perform the last rites in the morning. Her elders The decision has been taken after discussion with brothers Shivrajkumar and Raghavendra Rajkumar."
Apart from this, a decision will be taken at night to decide the timing of the funeral, he added.
The body will be taken to Kanteerva Studio, located 11.7 km away, where Puneet will be cremated.
It was earlier decided that as soon as Puneet's elder daughter reaches New Delhi, the body will be taken in a procession to Kanteerva Studio, but this has been changed.
