Kannada star Puneeth Rajkumar dies of heart attack during workout, section 144 in Karnataka

New Delhi. Sandalwood Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar has died of a heart attack while working out at the gym. Soon after the heart attack, 46-year-old Puneet was admitted to Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru. As per reports, Appu was initially rushed to Ramana Maharshi hospital close to his Sadashivanagar residence in Bengaluru after he experienced chest congestion. However, he was later shifted to Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru after his condition deteriorated.

There is a wave of mourning in entire Karnataka due to his death. All theatres are being closed in the state. Section 144 has been implemented in many areas to control the fans. Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai also reached the hospital.

India is mourning over the sudden death of Kannada star Puneeth Rajkumar, high alert in Karnataka 

Puneet's father Rajkumar was an icon of South Indian cinema. He was the first actor in the Kannada film industry to receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. He was abducted from Tamil Nadu by sandalwood smuggler Veerappan in July 2000. Puneet started his career as a child artist; he was also honoured with National Award.

Several actors and people from different parts of society paid their tribute to Kannada Super Star.
