On Good Governance Day, one lakh students to get tablets, smartphones
Lucknow, December 25: It is the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Yogi government of the state is celebrating this day as 'Good Governance Day. So at the same time, in order to upgrade the youth of the state technically, Yogi Adityanath, the chief of the state, will give free smartphones and tablets to one lakh youth today. This program of tablet and smartphone distribution will be held at Ekana Stadium at around 12 noon. During this, CM will also launch DG Shakti Portal and DG Shakti Adhyayan App.

Along with the scheme of distribution of free tablets and smartphones to the students, the government will also fulfil the biggest promise made in BJP's Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra 2017. Arvind Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, IT and Electronics Department said that this scheme is a big initiative in the direction of upgrading the youth technically. Smartphones and tablets will not only provide online course material for studies but also information related to employment. DG Shakti Adhyayan App is installed on all smartphones and tablets. Through the app, the concerned university or department will make available the study material to the students.
Apart from this, the Uttar Pradesh chief minister laid the foundation stone of 11 public welfare projects worth ₹230 crores on the occasion of 'Good Governance Day' in Bateshwar village of Agra, which is the native village of India's former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Since 2014, the Good Governance Day has been celebrated every year on December 25, which is the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister of India, Shree Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The day was declared by the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre following the announcement of Vajpayee as a recipient of the Bharat Ratna on December 23, 2014. He was conferred with the Bharat Ratna in 2015.
