It is noteworthy that Vajpayee was born on December 25, 1924. He was instrumental in taking the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to the pinnacle of success. In the nineties, he emerged as the main face of the party and for the first time, the government was formed under the leadership of BJP at the Centre. During Vajpayee's tenure as Prime Minister, liberalization was promoted in the country and infrastructure and development gained momentum.
