Heartbreaking to say Goodbye Puneeth Rajkumar yet his eyes will continue to watch the world
Bangalore: It is really hard for fans to say goodbye to their favourite Kannada cinema's "power star" and celebrity television host Puneeth Rajkumar, he even set an example even after his death. The actor passed away today after suffering a severe heart attack.
Like his father, actor Puneet Rajkumar's, The eyes were donated to a donation centre, named after his father late Rajkumar, located at Narayana Nethralaya. Puneeth’s father and famous south actor Dr Rajkumar himself had decided to donate the eyes of his entire family in 1994. Dr Rajkumar also died of a heart attack on 12 April 2006 at the age of 76.

Actor Chetan Kumar Ahimsa tweeted, a team of doctors completed the procedure within six hours of his (Puneet Rajkumar) death. The actor tweeted, " While I was at the hospital to see Appu Sir, a medical group came to remove his eyes in a 6-hour window after death

Kannada star Puneeth Rajkumar dies of a heart attack during a workout, section 144 in Karnataka
Dr Bhujang Shetty, Chairman, Narayana Nethralaya, told News18, “Dr Rajkumar had said while pledging his eyes, that all members of his family will donate their eyes after death. The family has kept his word. Even at such a difficult time, they called me this noon and asked to retrieve his eyes. They are truly brave."
Puneeth Rajkumar, who is passionate about fitness, complained of chest pain after a two-hour workout in the gym, after which he was taken to Vikram Hospital in Bangalore, doctors treated him. He died shortly after. He is survived by his wife Ashwini Revanth and two daughters Dhriti and Vandita.
