A blast took place in the district court of Ludhiana on Thursday. The blast took place on the third floor of the court and in this two people have died, while 4 people have been seriously injured. The blast happened shortly before Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi reached Ludhiana.

It is being told that the blast took place in the bathroom located on the third floor. A mutilated body was recovered from the bathroom. It is suspected that this body is that of a suicide bomber. Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar has informed that the investigation so far has revealed that the person, whose dead body was found, had an explosive.

Although Bhullar did not say anything on the angle of the suicide bomber, he did say that the preliminary investigation has revealed that the deceased was planting this explosive at the spot and the blast took place during that time. Right now the matter is being seriously investigated. According to sources, the torso and legs of this alleged suicide bomber were raged in the blast. The forensic team is examining the body so that it can be confirmed that it is primarily a suicide bomber.

NSG from Delhi and NIA team from Chandigarh left for Ludhiana
a two-member team of NIA has left Chandigarh to investigate the blast from a terrorist angle. The NIA team along with the forensic team of Punjab Police will investigate the blast. Sources have also confirmed that the NSG team from Delhi has also been sent to Ludhiana. Both these teams will see in the investigation whether this blast is not an act of foreign powers. Apart from this, a forensic team from Chandigarh has also been sent to Ludhiana.

The High Court took cognizance of the incident. The
Punjab and Haryana High Court have also expressed concern while taking cognizance of the blast in the Ludhiana Court. The High Court has ordered to increase the security in all the courts of Punjab and Haryana. Along with this, a meeting of police officers of Punjab and Haryana has been called.

The death toll may increase: Eyewitness
Gurpal Singh, who was present in the court at the time of the blast, said that the blast took place in the bathroom behind the photo state machine. Four are injured. The condition of one or two is so critical that they may even die. I myself have come down leaving three.

There were fewer crowds in the court due to the strike.
The blast took place in the bathroom near Court No. 9 on the third floor. The entire court building was shaken by the explosion. The windows of the building were shattered and cars parked in the parking lot were also damaged. Some people present on the spot also expressed the apprehension of cylinder burst. Police and administration officials have not yet given any statement about the blast. There is chaos in the court. However, due to the strike of lawyers, the crowd was less here on Thursday as compared to normal days.

Top police officers, administration officials and bomb disposal squad have reached the spot. The police force has surrounded the court premises from all sides. A blockade has been imposed across the city by issuing a high alert. Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi is also reaching the city today to address a public meeting.

After the conspiracy of disturbances in Punjab before the elections, CM Channi said that as soon as the elections are approaching, the anti-India and anti-Punjab forces are spoiling the atmosphere. First, an attempt was made to disturb Punjab through sacrilege but did not succeed. Now, this kind of thing is being done. No guilty will be spared.
