Those celebrating Pakistan's victory will face sedition:, Yogi Adityanath

Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made it clear that those who celebrated the defeat of the Indian team and the victory of the Pakistani team in the T20 World Cup match in the state would be prosecuted for sedition. This information has been given by Yogi Adityanath's office in a tweet message on Thursday morning. After the Indian team's defeat at the hands of the Pakistani team in the match on October 24, celebrations were held at some places in Uttar Pradesh, to which the Yogi government has strongly objected. 

Such cases have come to notice at different places in Uttar Pradesh where some people celebrated India's defeat in a cricket match and Pakistan's victory.  5 cases have been registered in 4 districts of Uttar Pradesh and 7 people have been nominated. Now the Chief Minister has made it clear that a case of sedition will be launched against such people. 

According to the information received, the first case has been registered at Jagdishpura police station in Agra district, it is alleged that some people raised anti-national and pro-Pakistan slogans after the defeat of the Indian team in the match; in this case, 3 people were detained and interrogated. The second case is of Izzatnagar in Bareilly district where there is an allegation of abusing the plaintiff and threatening to kill him while supporting Pakistan after the defeat of the Indian team. The third case is also of Izzatnagar police station in Bareilly. The fourth case is of Faizganj Behta police station in Bareilly and a person has been named there too while the fifth case is of Rampur Mathura police station in Sitapur district in which a person has been arrested under section 151 of CrPC. 

There has also been a case in Rajasthan where a female school teacher has lost her job for supporting Pakistan in the T20 World Cup India-Pakistan match. The case is of Udaipur, Rajasthan, where Nafeesa, a female teacher of a private school, is accused of writing in support of Pakistan on social media during the India-Pakistan match and when her chat went viral on social media, the school management. She was fired from his job. So far no police action has been taken in this matter nor has the management given any complaint to the police in this regard.
