Facts Check News: Ever since the Delhi CM announced, the free ride for women in the coming month’s people are divided over the move. Many term it as an election gimmick and many see it as just a vote bank tool.

This post, by the name of Nirmala Sitaraman, has been shared by more than 33 thousand times on social media.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had announced that the Delhi government intended to subsidise travel in public transport for women commuters in the Capital. The government intended to allow them free travel on metro trains and State-run buses “by August-September,”

Many people have raised doubts over this move. Instead of making things free, how about making things safer as a priority if you want to implement policies in Delhi?? I don’t really care if I travel for free! However, I do definitely care if I am safe or not while choosing my medium of transportation, and free travel will not help me in making that choice.

However, the statement is not true, the daily wage worker even has a daughter and wife and hence this move by the Delhi government will surely help the poor women’s and girls living in Delhi.
