Our Analysis: The above messages have been circulating on social media that to get blood in India, just SMS to 9600 9700 and immediately donor will call you back. As per our analysis it is not fact and can be termed as fake news.
In year 2008, Jeevan Blood Bank had started this initiative only for people of Chennai and not India. The details were published in the Hindu newspaper:
Conclusion – This scheme was introduced in 2008 by Jeevan Blood Bank only for people of Chennai and this is not valid as of now. This was never launched at India level, so we can term this news as fake news.
