Several steps are being taken to modernize the madarsas

Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is taking various steps to run madarsas with modern education. More than 2 thousand madrassas were found to be fake after the registration of the web portal by the Yogi Government was made mandatory. These were spent more than Rs 100 crore annually. The state government is investigating the case of fake madrassas.

Management of all the madarsas was asked to upload full information about themselves on the web portal of Uttar Pradesh Madarsa Board. But even though the last date was extended several times, 20 of the 140 mini ITIs operated by the madarsas did not give their information. Besides, about 2300 madrassas did not even register themselves on the portal. All these were spent about 100 crores of rupees every year so far.
