Facts Check Analysis: A new fake message based on the KBC show is viral over the social media. The message claims that “aapke liye good news hai aapke iss number pe Kaun Banega Maha Crorepati ki Janab se Aapke is number pe 25 lakh rupay ka lottery laga hai lottery hasil karne ke liye is number par contact kare. Rana Pratap Singh- 0017726175812”.
When a twitter user reported this to the Mumbai Police the police replied back saying “Please do not share any sensitive details over a call and visit the nearest police station for further support.”

This is a common case of fraud over the KBC and many others have been Earliar reported. Previously a case was reported on August 15, 2018.
When a Mumbai resident Gayatri Pisekar received a WhatsApp message from an unknown number, which included the KBC logo, a picture of Mr. Bachchan, and a voice message. Ms. Pisekar played the message, which had the recording of a man saying in Hindi that she had won ₹35 lakh, and that she should make a WhatsApp call to the number of the ‘head office’ mentioned in the message.
Last week, around five people were cheated into paying processing fees for a lottery from Sabse Smart Kaun, another popular TV show. Star India has submitted an application to the N.M. Joshi Marg police regarding the matter.
Another case reported on March 1, 2018, A woman in LUCKNOWcity was duped of Rs 6,000 in the name of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' lucky draw. Her husband lodged an FIR with Krishnanagar police on Wednesday.
