Chennai Super Kings VS Kolkata Knight Riders IPL Final on Friday, 15, 2021

Eoin Morgan stormed Kolkata Knight Riders into the finals of IPL 2021, they defeated Delhi Capitals by three wickets in the second qualifier of IPL 2021 to reach the final. KKR's title clash will now take place on October 15 against Chennai Super Kings. After Qualifier 2, Delhi, batting first, set a target of 136 runs in front of KKR. Kolkata achieved this target with one ball. KKR needed 7 runs in the last over; Rahul Tripathi hit a brilliant six off Ashwin's fifth ball to win the match for his team.

Kolkata required 13 from the final 25 deliveries to top Delhi's 135-5 but then lost six wickets for seven runs to tumble from 123-1 to 130-7. It was a dramatic win for KKR.

Frustrated by the loss, Delhi captain Rishabh Pant said after the match: "I don't have an answer as to how I feel. After six wickets fell, we were confident that we would take the match forward, but we could not. They bowled well in the middle over’s, we couldn't rotate the strike, but Delhi Capitals are always known to come back, hopefully, we will come back next year. This season we played good cricket, whatever happened, we learn Well, hopefully, we will do well next season."

Rahul Tripathi, who won the match for KKR with a six, said, "It feels great. Winning was very important for the team. We had one or two tough overs and I never thought the match would go so deep. Glad we did Won the match. Rabada bowled really well in the 18th over, but I knew I had to hit just one. Chances were there was a plan to take two. It was difficult for the new batsmen to get straight singles and boundaries. It was low. It was hard to keep and hit. I believed in myself and I knew it was just one hit away. It's been a great journey for us after the first leg. We believed in ourselves and the way Eoin and the coach gave us The attitude helped us with a positive outlook."

KKR captain Eoin Morgan said, "What we did in the last four overs we didn't want to happen because our openers did very well. Of course, we will go on to win the finals. We wanted to win the match easily, but Delhi Capitals was a lot better. It's a good team. It's good for us that we have a lot of young Indian players. The kind of team we have, we've been in constant dialogue, we've managed to adapt our strategy.
