Facebook has added a new feature to find Wi-Fi, named 'Find Wi-Fi'. This feature is for both iOS and Android users. Facebook says that the testing of this feature has been started since last year, which is now available for all devices.

This new feature will not be available instantly, Companies need to manually add their Wi-Fi network to the app (the same way they would their phone number or street address), and that won't happen overnight.  So wait some time before you get this option in your app.

However once you get this feature in your mobile you can use it as

For this, Facebook users will have to click on the More tab of the Facebook app, where they will see the option of Find Wi-Fi tab. After turning on the Find Wi-Fi tab, the smartphone's location service must be turned on.

Once the location is turned on, a map will be opened on your screen, where your current location and nearby availability will be exposed to free Wi-Fi locations. Now you can take advantage of the free Wi-Fi service there.

Facebook's engineering director Alex Himmel has written in his blog post that with the launch of this, we found that this feature is not only beneficial for people traveling, but also in areas where the mobile network is not good.

According to Alex Himmel, this feature is helpful in searching the Wi-Fi hotspot available near users, wherever you are, if your mobile data network is not good, and then you can search nearby data connections.
