Doctors are citing steroids and diabetes as the major cause of the black fungus. Apart from this, after Kovid, due to the presence of black fungus on social media and all kinds of posts about the treatment are becoming viral. These days a post is being shared a lot on the internet that black fungus also spreads through the onions kept in the house.

The viral message says."Beware of domestic black fungus. At times when you purchase onions, you must have noticed a black layer on them. Actually, this is the black fungus." The post also mentioned that the black film or coating on the rubber inside the refrigerator is the cause of the black fungus. If both these things are ignored, then black fungus can easily enter the body from the food items kept inside the refrigerator.

This information was released from the Facebook page. Some people are also considering the stains on fruits and vegetables to be the cause of black fungus infection. 

News Verification: At the same time, reacting to this strange claim of mucormycosis, AIIMS Director Dr. Randeep Guleria said that there is a need to manage blood sugar levels to prevent fungal infections in patients suffering from Kovid-19. Due to the lack of blood in this infection, the patient's skin gradually starts to fade and looks black, which is why people started calling it black fungus.
