This news is making rounds in social media from time to time. In 2010 and then in 2012 this news made lots of noise. And now again in 2017, this news is back. Our analysis for this news –

1. Officially, this news is not available on government sites or any major news sites.
2. No complains available online from any of the concerned parents or social welfare groups can be seen.
3. Pop rock candy is one of the good products also available in sites like Amazon. It is tiny crystal which starts sparkling once kept in mouth. As a kid we used to make fool of others using it.
4. In school premises, the shopkeepers are always verified for the products that they sell to students in canteen. So, chances are very less that they will be selling any product like this to students.
5. It is being told in message that don’t take this candy even from class mate that it might contain drug. It is impossible to stop kids from sharing chocolates from each other. As a parents, one should always be conscious about their kids. If any kid takes such kind of Meth, then it can be observed at one glance by watching their behaviour change.
6. In our society, drugs is being sold by people in different forms. Let’s forget this strawberry pop hoax. It can be given in any sweets, or for direct consumption. So, the basic point here is that we should always keep our eyes open for any such incidence occurring around us. Recently there was a movie – ‘Udata Punjab’, which clearly depicted the usage of drugs in our society. And the harm that it brought to common man.
