New Delhi, Agni VI (Agni 6): Immediately after the successful launch of the Agni V (Agni 5) surface-to-surface nuclear capable ballistic missile on 26th December 2016, everyone wanted to know what is next for India in the Missile. Is it the end of the road?
The good news is that the DRDO have already started its work on the next Agni Missile, The Agni VI or Agni 6 missile.
Agni-6, following the line of Agni V is a intercontinental ballistic missile, which can target enemies multiple independently targetable re-entry vehicles(MIRV)

Still in the development phase, Agni-VI is a four –stage intercontinental ballistic missile.
Agni 6, is expected to have multiple independently targetable reentry vehicle and Maneuverable reentry (MaRV)
Agni-VI will be taller than its predecessor Agni V and the expected test is by 2017.
Agni 6 is not yet approved by the central government.
Recently India Launched Agni-V Missile
The first test of Agni-V, about 17-metre long and weighing over 50 ton, was conducted on 19 April 2012, second was on 15 September 2013 and the third on 31 January 2015 from the same base.
This is fourth and the last of the test being done on the Agni V. The launch was done at around 11.05 am from a mobile launcher complex-4 of the Integrated Test Range (ITR), defence sources said.
