Arnab Goswami  VS Subramanian Swamy:  Recently Subramanian Swamy,  a Rajya Sabha MP and senior BJP leader has asked and fileda subsequent complaint against Arnab Goswami, former Times Now editor-in-chief, the latter is challenging the the name of his newly announced venture of Arnab, which he named as Republic earlier.

He had asked the Bengaluru based media baron and BJP MP Rajeev Chandrashekhar, not to keep the existing name as proposed by them as republic as this is not possible as per current India law. Reacting to this in a positive way Arnab and Chandrashekhar have now changed the name from Republic to Republic TV. Rajeev is among Goswami’s investors.

Swamy on Monday tweeted to Arnab:

Swamy had earliar written to the Union ministry of information and broadcast regarding the use of the word 'Republic' for a commercial venture And now rnab Goswami has now said that his new venture will forthwith be called 'Republic TV'.

In the letter, Arnab said, "We would like to bring to your kind attention that the name of our news channel is being changed from 'Republic' to Republic TV'.
